It actually came out better than I thought it was going to. Steve Potter and Charlie Craven both have Diver ties that are a good reference. I think they both go by he/him, but then who really gives a fck, right?
I have my grandfathers antique bamboo rod, i would really like to get it set up and Fish with it
If possible, keep your toes pointed upstream. The force of the water over your feet will force them downward and aid traction. Pointing your toes downstream will put the force of the current against your heels and cause your feet to kick out when you shift your weight.
I watched again one of the best films 👍
Needed to know this sooner!! Lol. Thanks much! 🤙🏼
more glue, more weight?
Description says processed in Virginia. Its made in china. Orvis wont let me submit a review saying this
Tom made a good decision to make the fly look more like a sculpin. It looks better…but both look good!
Loving this series!
Casting
I live 20 minutes from Caledonia and I didn’t even know they had a trout fest. lol
This Event is The NEXT 🎉 LEVEL in our Sport !!!!!! 🌟🎣💫
This what work smarter not harder means
Tim, I tried your parachute tying technique for Iso. Worked great. Very clean way to tie larger parachute patterns. If the white post is a deal breaker you could always use grey poly and thread to make a more natural imitation for Tom. Thanks.
Great job learned something.
I really like Tim's fly even with the white post
This is awesome. What a great concept. Really helpful
You three make me chuckle every time. It's awesome. Really digging Tom's Tup's Indispensible Pink and Red Palmer.
Hi from Alberta, pretty sure fly fish food would have sasquatch dub if a fly would call for it! those buggers got everything
Ram nut fly😂
Here in Florida
That’s a steelhead
16:28: OMG! I'm literally LOL watching this. Cheech is a great trash-talker. He has elevated Tom's and Tim's game. 😂
Awesome videos, Tim!
I would vote for Tom’s because it looks more like the original…but Tim’s appears to be an excellent match to the NJ crab. 😂
Do you have a video where we are not part of a class? Maybe just show us the fly and tying it? Thanks. Tight lines🐜🕷️🐛!!!!!
I was just trying this last weekend with fly rod. I did this with my spin cast years ago. Great little trick for though hard to cast areas. By the way I wasn't to successful with my fly rod. Oh darn! I have to go fishing to try it again.
Please put the video on you tube. Who has a dvd player?
My Tesla Cybertruck seed just arrived in the mail today!
I’m on team Tim this time. I do the wings first. I like these tie offs.
Tough one. I like Tom's fly much better except for the one wing. I like Tim's wings better but not the rest. I suppose I'd vote for Tom's fly.
One of the best casting instructional videos ever!!! Thank you.
I love who you are, too, James. Thanks so much for being my friend.
The best half&half tutorial l've ever seen. Closest to the original. Fine tie!!!
Tom does pretty well for a slightly better than average tyier
awesome! Im ashamed to say ive had a rod stuck for a year and all I had to do was to do the hands behind back and use legs and it come off no problem.
Just said goodbye to my beautiful Labrador , Sherlock - he was an XL dog w horrible arthritis at the end . I know how hard it is to say goodbye ❤️🩹
Day 1 of watching Orvis content and learning fly fishing until an apparel design position opens up! :D Super informative content!!
Such a great video! As a beginner, there are all these videos showing casting & landing... but mysteriously almost nothing about the actual fighting of the fish. In hindsight it seems self-explanatory, but hookset to landing was just a black hole of zero knowledge prior to this video. Thanks!
I like to use CDL for the tails. It's much more durable as well as more realistic. 7/64 pt 1/8 will work fine, I like black and copper
Was gonna buy one of these till I seen the woke ideology Being pushed by orvis.. super disappointed I really thought more of the whole company. I take my family and kids to the streams to stay away from all that.. orvis rods are a joke now I wouldn't be caught dead with one in my hand
Every fly rod angler needs to master roll casting. I learned from my dad and his friends like perry munroe. Where we all live, if you wanna just get out and fish locally you almost always need to roll cast. Otherwise your havin a bad day in the trees.
I would love to see a tie off using a "Mystery Material" selected by your followers or moderator. Something not typically seen in a fly. Does anyone have any Idea's for a "Mystery Material"?
Thanks a lot, Tom. 👍🏻
Just smokes a monster too
you carry too much stuff
Thank you so much I was struggling it’s my first time and I was getting weird looks from all the grandpas but now I know thanks to you
The actual part where you show how to tie the knots was very poorly done.
It depends if it's a right or left turkey Feather
Thank you so much for this, it's way easier to follow your second one than any of the dedicated nail knot guides and I was able to do it with a big needle I already had.
